Lovely walk that follows the stream and passes a couple of waterfalls. Walk takes you through different flora and fauna. Option to do loop walk - follow path of Tanekaha Falls Track to Kauri Dam (2 big Kauri trees over the stream) then come back via the Puriri Track - very picturesque. The named resting places are quaint and give you plenty of options to stop for a snack or to just sit and enjoy the countryside. Track is well kept and many thanks go to those who you can see have helped keep it in good condition and adding tar to rocks for grip etc. If it is very wet I recommend hiking boots as path could be slippy under foot and good grip would be beneficial. Lovely walk that let's you enjoy the outdoors and be in a green mindset.

WOW what an enjoyable trek! While there are multiple paths, we chose the 'Falls Track.' On this path, there are three waterfalls, with a dam further up. The first waterfall was great, with a swimming hole...it's beautiful here. As you go further, you'll be crossing the stream many times but the track is right next to the stream which makes for an interesting journey. Before you enter the tracks, there's sprays to clean your shoes. This is to prevent kauri die back. Unfortunately, I started getting dizzy as we were about to reach the second waterfall so we turned back. Definitely give it a try if you're in Mangawhai!

A really beautiful walking track with well developed trails. Fairly easy to walk, and only about 40 minutes to Tanekaha Falls. There are beautiful wooded trails, scenery, streams, walkways, bridges, and smaller waterfalls along the way. When you get to the falls, there are plenty of places to sit down, relax, and have some lunch or a snack before heading back to the car park. We really enjoyed this hike and will most definitely do it again when we are in the area.

A spectacularly beautiful bush walk only ten minutes drive from Mangawhai. The walk into the bush passes through a delightful pasture area. The tracks are well maintained. I visited one of the waterfalls then turned off and took the botanical track. It appeared less used than the Forest track . It climbs into the bush and takes many loops and twists. The trail is quite narrow in places. There are some signs on the trees informing about the fauna. Half way along is a bench with marvelous views through the canopy. Overall the bush walk was quite magical albeit a bit squishy underfoot as it had poured down the night before... There are many trails to visit. Make sure you put this on your...
