The James Homestead — Attraction in North Island

My husband Ethan and I got married at The James Homestead. All I can say is if you are looking for a venue that makes you feel at home, this is the place. Paula (owner) and her beautiful property welcomed us with open arms when we had to bring our wedding forward secondary to unwell family members. Paula was nothing but compassionate towards us and our family and we cannot thank her enough for all she has done.

Paula and her team of helpers put on a fantastic feast- of which we highly recommend the ham, as well as brownies for dessert (although, its hard to pick a couple of things as it was all so delish!).

Paula even opened up a space for my unwell father to rest so that he could remain at the wedding-which to us speaks volumes about her kindness and flexibility to accommodate.

All being said, Paula and her team of helpers could not be more highly regarded by us. We thank her for such a special day, and for going above and beyond to help us make our wedding happen on such short notice.

My Mum recently held a family lunch for 8 people at the James Homestead which was provided and hosted by Paula Smith. This was most successful and they all had a very enjoyable time as evidenced by the happy photos I saw!! They had been asked to suggest a menu, but agreed to have what was available as a seasonal menu on the day and all commented that the 3 course meal was excellent as were the surroundings and extras such as flowers on the table. Paula has catered two family occasions for us. The first being my mums surprise birthday celebration. I was arranging this from Australia and though closed borders stopped us from attending, planning it with Paula was simple and everyone who attended loved the venue, the catering and enjoyed the day.
