Nice and big place, dogs are allowed off the leash, couldn't find a bowl for my doggy to drink water but for sure she loved the puddles also didn't see any poo bin inside the park, just a normal bin kind of hidden at the entrance, great lookout

Such a lovely park, gorgeous views! Dogs all off leash and everyone's lovely, berry picking if u take the bottom bush track during summer months :) lots of native birds to watch, and plenty of beautiful native bush

This is such a beautiful track. Should take around 2 hours. The view is so beautiful and I will do it again. Absolutely fantastic.

PLEASE PLEASE DONT let your dog approach random strangers and lick their faces. No I do not want to stroke your dog, no that does not mean I hate it or am a terrible person. It may be hard for some to believe but not everyone is comfortable around dogs. My experience as this beautiful park is always ruined by owners who cannot either control their dogs or just don’t want to. Some people aren’t dog people. It does not make me a bad person and it puts me in a very uncomfortable situation when you assume I am. Yesterday two dogs came up and licked my face (as a person who is not a dog lover and has a compromised immune system this was very upsetting and honestly disgusting) and the owner just laughed. I do not hate dogs, but i hate that it is so hard for some people to accept that not everyone loves your dog as much as you do. Either keep it on a leash or call it when you can see it’s running up to someone. Some people...

Perfect place for pooches and their peeps. It's hard for me to imagine an area like this dedicated to dogs. Be warned, as pretty as it is, there are some strategically placed landmines. But not even the waft coming from a breached dog poo crust is enough to spoil the magnificent view from up here. Bins are provided, but we did see a present left against a pole instead of in the bin. The park is big with ample parking. It's a grassy area with gravel paths connecting lookout points. I'm not sure if dogs can run free, but rest assured since the place is on a cul de sac it's unlikely that Waldo will meet his maker due to a collision with a car. Do you and and your dog a favour and go up to the park. The exercise will do...

I love Waihinahina Park. Maybe I'm biased as a Newlandian, but the view is beautiful & it's great for the dog. We start at the car park and walk clockwise around the park, paying our respect to the majestic old mānuka on the bank before doing the same to Pito-one, Matiu, Mākaro, Ngā Mokopuna and the Kāhui Mounga of Wellington & Motu-kairangi. After spending some time chasing rabbits, the dog and I head up the Paparārangi Walking Track through the bush to the road above the marae of Ngā Hau e Whā o Paparārangi. Then we head back down the access road past all the new plantings to the car park. It's all...
