We did the Te Ara Ramora tramping track (follow blue marker poles) from the starting stile for a 3hr return loop walk. View the hand drawn map in the visitor centre board. The trail winds beautifully along the stream crossing it maybe 12-15 times! But all shallow. There’s multiple scenery settings which make for a lot of fun along the fairly long grass trail. We took a picnic snack stop before then heading up the strong gradient as we climbed up to the Ti Kouka/Rocks and caught a stunning view point of the whole Kapiti coastline. From there it’s a nicely sedate walk downhill as the trail loops back to...

Not sure what the other reviewers are talking about in regard to mtb trails as the actual marked trails on the map are quite disappointing. Especially the "advanced" decent. Which is nothing but an overgrown 4wd track down the side of the hill! The beginner climb is good and has a good mix of climbing to resting sections with some reasonable views along the way.

The gates that must be opened and closed are actually quite dangerous and have a high risk of slipping through and seriously injuring a leg/foot if...

We took our two children one to look for the kiwi guardian post, and the other in the pram. Both children loved the walks. However nowhere did it say that the place was not suitable for prams. Some of the walk was narrow. We had to lift the pram over fences and pull it up stairs. The views at the lookout were wonderful and the trip is well worth it. But take baby in a backpack. The farm is also used by very courteous push bikers, lots of them, and horses are often riden here too, so keep little walkers...

Great lookout with easy access and gorgeous views over Kapiti Coast and Kapiti Island. The forest loop track has lots of info boards which help to keep kids entertained while discovering the forest birds and insects. Upd. What I really like about this reserve is that every path is so different. There are heaps of hidden gems like giant totara or kid-size bench, weta boxes in the bush and cool look-outs. Hit the track and enjoy!

Amazing bike climb for me. Met a local biker who showed me tech trails past beyond the main mtb track (not listed on trailforks yet). Main flow trail has many doubles and tables. Fun to ride if you know the trail well. Amazing views from the top. Mostly well signed. I got confused with the map from the info hutt. It seems it needs updating. Trail names on trailforks and the local info map are different.
