We did the Te Ara Ramora tramping track (follow blue marker poles) from the starting stile for a 3hr return loop walk. View the hand drawn map in the visitor centre board. The trail winds beautifully along the stream crossing it maybe 12-15 times! But all shallow. There’s multiple scenery settings which make for a lot of fun along the fairly long grass trail. We took a picnic snack stop before then heading up the strong gradient as we climbed up to the Ti Kouka/Rocks and caught a stunning view point of the whole Kapiti coastline. Read moreNot sure what the other reviewers are talking about in regard to mtb trails as the actual marked trails on the map are quite disappointing. Especially the "advanced" decent. Which is nothing but an overgrown 4wd track down the side of the hill! The beginner climb is good and has a good mix of climbing to resting sections with some reasonable views along the way.

Read moreWe took our two children one to look for the kiwi guardian post, and the other in the pram. Both children loved the walks. However nowhere did it say that the place was not suitable for prams. Some of the walk was narrow. We had to lift the pram over fences and pull it up stairs. The views at the lookout were wonderful and the trip is well worth it. But take baby in a backpack. The farm is also used by very courteous push bikers, lots of them, and horses are often riden here too, so keep little walkers...
