Matakana Country Park — Attraction in Rodney

Historically a great complex for the family comprising a Cafe, Art Studio, Fitness Gym, Kids area for animal interaction /feeding, equine training, supervised pony rides, souvenier shop, mini train rides,restaurant & Bar. Since the passing of the owner and under new ownership, the standard has fallen slightly and it looks and feels tired. Plenty of boutique businesses now occupy the park, and the Restaurant/Bars cater for weddings . Some $$ spent on maintenance & appearance would go a long way. Go and take yr kids for...

Cool spot with lots going on. Plenty to keep everyone entertained. The farmers market was a great way to spend the morning. Plenty of parking once the raceway was opened up. Lots of local eats and drinks. Awesome nail place too. Very cool playground for the kids. Loved being able to see and say hi to the horses and ponies. Very cool train going to. Oh and action ninja world looked like a blast. We'll have to come back for that one! Awesome gift and trinkets shop and lovely...

Went to have a go at the markets we were Vendor‘s for the day. I arrive late and drove my car off a little bridge, so was stuck there with the wheel hanging off until the end of the day! Great talking point for everyone walking past. Everyone all the market vendors and the people in charge could not have been more accommodating and friendly. Extremely busy place must return and had a look myself at some of the stalls and the great cafes there. Will be leaving the markets...
