I saw a lot of reviews saying it wasn't that great and it looked like someone's backyard I don't know what they were expecting it's in the middle of nowhere and it was fairly affordable considering the upkeep of such a place. I'm really glad I won't even know I didn't see most of the animals because it was mid-winter. I can't see for sure but it did seem to me that the bearded dragon that were in the greenhouse were all in distress their beards were entirely black and that they don't normally go inhabit but most of the other animals seemed healthy or very healthy so I really don't know. The customer service was pretty whatever the guy wasn't at the desk and seemed like it was a mild inconvenient to him to actually take payments, but if he was the only one there then that makes sense. The information parks didn't seem to have much about the creatures like their predicted sizes or those things sure you can Google it but maybe that could have been a lot better, clarifying what to expect.

If you like animals, especially lizards, spiders, turtles... this is definitely worth a visit. We are from Shanghai, my son, wife and I. At first we thought it was a small zoo. But we found that it was much bigger than expected, and we walked around for more than two hours. Finding lizards among the green leaves is an interesting thing. The crocodiles in the huge greenhouse and the dry turtles on the grass slopes all made us look at them with gusto. Thank you to the host for taking good care of these lovely creatures. The view of the sea from the hillside is also beautiful.

Went on a wet day in winter and still found this a most enjoyable activity with my 6 year old son who loves Tortoise, turtles and chickens, My husband and I loved the tuatara, giant lizards and monitors. Lovely loop walk through to each inclosure. The animals are kept In good conditions. A couple of alligators and tarantulas as well. Thoroughly enjoyed it and I recommend to others. The chap at the main office was lovely and showed us the skin of a red knee tarantula as they shed much like a cicada does which I never knew.

We visited the park yesterday (23.1.23). Just a pity the heat must have caused the poor lizard to hold onto the only small mesh window in his enclosure that was dry and narrow. The poor guy must have been hot and how long did he hang there? Does he live in that enclosure day after day? How about giving him a larger home under the forest canopy? The poor old alligator was squeezed under a tree, l guess he was trying to stay out of the hot sun. I don't think alligators should be kept in an unnatural environment. Plenty of bush there for him. Water in ponds looked stagnant, hot and green in most enclosures. I looked for staff, but saw no one to ask about them. I am certain staff work hard to keep the animals but l reckon the place needs a makeover just like any zoo. I hope the new government or Council can help with funding for this worthy cause. Loved the turtles...

Many species to see and observe. It is not worth $20 per person. I can see what they have tried to do with the place in making it look more natural and less display-like but at the same time gives an impression of not being taken care of even though it is being taken care of. There is clearly no mobilty access but the worst part came when I informed them of some of the gecko and tarantula species down below having had bone-dry bowls with no water they replied that they were sure the animals would be fine. I am also sure they would be fine too and they looked healthy but it is not a good look. I have a lot of experience with animals and felt that one of the leopard geckos tails were a little bit thin. I feel as if though these animals may be in better circumstances in Auckland Zoo and that place should be run as an animal rescue and...
