Busch Reserve is a lovely family picnic spot on summer days with lot of space. Located just 10 min (8.3 km) drive from Richmond Two or three safe swimming spots. Lots of trees for shade Two sets of free BBQ plates on either side of large grassed ground . Two no. of toilets at the entrance ,well maintained by NELMAC Safe swimming areas .Need to carry Insect repellents for flies. No camping allowed on night

Great place for kids and animals alike.... good size BBQ's and seating areas... nice easy tracks down to the river for that swim after eating.... only downside is no camping but a small price to pay for a wonderful spot to enjoy on hot summer days

This beautiful spot in the Aniseed Valley is one of our favourite places for a swim. There are barbecue areas and toilets and plenty of grassed areas for games. Sometimes in the summer the river can get too warm and green slime can build up. The sand flies can be a problem too. At just 9 km from Richmond it takes less than 15 minutes to drive there. Plus you get great views of the Waimea Plains as you drive...

Busch Reserve is a lovely family friendly spot for that refreshing summer plunge. It has wonderful old trees for shade. A couple of safe swimming holes for the family to enjoy. Free gas BBQ plates. Picnic tables. Two toilets - imperative in the middle of nowhere - these are kept very clean with toilet paper, and running water. Loads of space. Large grassed areas for sports fans to...
