We did not stay at Hilltop Accommodation Catlins because our flight was canceled due to the south island stormy weather condition on 11/12 July. As a result, we have to cancel our travel to South Island. I phoned the Hilltop Accommodation Catlins at around 8 in the morning on 13 July, but no one answered, so I emailed instead. I waited and no response so I phoned them again. This time, the manager at the Hotel said the owner of the hotel will contact me in response to the cancellation request. They DIDN'T. Since then, I did not get any single phone call or email, and not even a text message.
They did NOT contact me to ask for a evident to support a refund as they claimed in their response below.
I am really disappointed about their attitude in dealing with any customer request. Whether the booking is able to cancel or not, the hotel should respond in a professional manner, NOT ignore their customer. If I have any chance to travel to Catlins next time, I will certainly avoid...
Read moreI was lucky enough to have the place to myself for the night I stayed in the Catlins. The fire was set for me when I arrived and there were easy to follow instructions for use of the many amenities offered. I was alone but there is a foosball table and pool table so would be great to rent for a weekend away with friends. The Catlins itself is a beautiful place if you're wanting to get away for a while. Papatowai is a great location near the Lost Gypsy Caravan, Cathedral Caves, and a number of beautiful beaches and waterfall walks, with the option to hire kayaks from the little Paptowai township. The hosts were very accommodating and responsive and told me in advance about the limited township facilities so I came with everything I needed, but they do helpfully provide food for cash purchase at the accommodation. The driveway much like driving the rest of the Catlins is an adventure in itself. Check in and check out were easy. Stayed in room 2, bed was...
Read moreI am visiting my daughter, she lives in Queenstown, I'm over from UK. We wanted to tour round the Catlins. Found this cottage on 'Bookme'. Ideally situated, lovely cosy little cottage set up high in a field surrounded by sheep. The cottage as spectacular views. An ensuite double bedroom, a twin room, seperate shower room & toilet. The kitchen is well stocked with crockery, utensils etc., there was tea coffee & sugar but please take your own food supplies. There is a very small shop nearby but closes by 5pm, we missed it so I don't know what it stocks, the next nearest store/cafe didn't open until 11am today (Sunday) so no info on that either. Right, back to the cottage. There are heated blankets on the beds, heaters in all of the rooms, aircon unit in the kitchen. Lots of blankets on the beds, you won't get cold. My daughter did the booking up & spoke to the owner, Ray, who was extremely helpful. Thank you for a...
