One of the lesser known tracks in the area that stretches 7.1km to Jack’s Point. It’s about 2hrs one way. The whole track is scenic because it hugs one end of Lake Wakatipu. I definitely recommend this track if you love being by the water. It’s now my favourite track and I’ve been living here for more than a year. Start from here if you want a flat path with minimal exertion. You reach an offshoot track leading down to the beach (see photos) about 5 min after starting - it’s a downhill slope with 72 steps to the beach, I took 3 minutes to reach the beach fr the main path and 3.5 minutes to climb back up again. Continue walking and you’ll see benches with great views. The other end of this track at jacks point is tougher, with steeper climbs - equally beautiful views from a different angle. This is a mountain biking trail as well- about grade 2 at this end (and grade 5 at jacks point).

Some beautiful coastal views on an empty track! Reccomend checking the wind report beforehand as it can get gusty being along the lake. Really flat in most points, good for a leisurely walk. Highly reccomend for the kids! Also lots of small lookouts along the track worth stopping for.

Nice track, runs by a disc golf course, and then through regenerating native bush to a lookout. Can continue further on or take a detour down the hillside to the beach.

Loved the track. We took a ferry to Bay View and walked all the way to Jacks Point Terminus. Took us less than 3h with stops. I recommend hiking in dry sunny weather as the track is a bit hilly and can get slippery. The views...
