Paparoa National Park is on the west coast of the South Island of New Zealand. The park was established in 1987 and encompasses 430 km². The park ranges from or near the coastline to the peaks of the Paparoa Range. A separate section of the park lies to the north and is centred at Ananui Creek.

Der Paparoa Nationalpark und die Pancake Rocks Die Pancake Rocks sind eine Felsformation im Paparoa-Nationalpark nur etwa 60 Kilometer südlich von Westport und so brauchen wir keine Stunde von Cape Foulwind bis zum Informationszentrum des Paparoa National Park. Direkt gegenüber befindet sich der Eingangsbereich zu den Pancake Rocks.
Bei meinem letzten Besuch vor 25 Jahren sah das alles anders aus, es gab kein Infocenter und keinen wunderbar ausgebauten Rundwanderweg durch diese übereinander geschichteten Pfannkuchen. Ja so sehen sie wirklich aus und sie sind sehenswert damals wie heute.
