Pegasus Playground — Attraction in South Island

This is a lovely spot to visit with the kids/ grandkids. Great activities for them to do and share, everything from solving maze puzzles, to making music, swinging sliding through a big pipe slide , to climbing wall, spinners, siderweb frame, balance activitied, lesser slides, basket swing, toddler swing, and a few more challenging activities... and... there's coffe e and food close by! The playground is well maintained, with softfall ground cover underneath , seating for adultson benches or on the artificial grass of the hill. If you get bored with playing you can take the kids down to the little beach for a play on the sand. ( But stay out of the water, because there are signs saying they are having trouble with toxic algae bloom at present. You can walkaround the artificial lake and take the family dog if you want. We chose to cross one bridge, turn left ans walk to the next bridge, cross to the island with its waterfall, picnic spots, and even a public barbeque. Plenty of seating. Bring the sausages, steak and salads! Then we walked on over Bob's Bridge back to the car park, by the cafe. There zre public toilets there, that have good washing up facilities as well...even soap! Ver attractive views of the lake and wildlife, mostly aquatic birds. Well worth a visit. There is even an icecream shop as you come back from the island. Just off Main Road north. It's a great playground for the kids, but if you are a parent in a wheelchair and have a small child that requires your help, you will not be able to do so as the whole playground is bark. Makes it very frustrating. The kids love it, but our youngest needs his older sibling to watch him and I have to sit to the side and watch. Will note there is wheelchair accessible toilets and baby change table so...

Kids love it Watch out for the golfers hitting golf balls lol. i noticed there was a lot of green grass and trees, pioneer stadium is close by and one good feature out side was that there was volley ball courts and tennis courts and basket ball courts all available free to use. and there are picnic tables and a barbeque there to use, so i recommend trying out this place with...
