Whites Bay — Attraction in South Island

Great place for family or large group picnics. Clean toilet and bathing facilities. You can also camp at Whites Bay. However, the beach is open to the public. We walked from Monkey's Bay. Very sheltered sandy beach, loads of parking available and we were able to find a spot even at christmas. Fairly narrow road driving up to here but be safe round the corners and all is good

Wonderful beach that a isite visitor center employee suggested that I should visit. My original intention was to hike the Rarangi to Whites Bay track. Changed my mind when I saw the potential effort hiking up and down those hills. Beautiful views from different lookouts on the road...
