swag beach! theres a nice river to play with the dogs in thats easily accessible down a rock path. from there it can be a bit treacherous bc its basically just massive hills of rocks that love falling down dramatically as u try climb them. when tide is high theres only the rock hill on the beach which is still nice, but when its low tide and theres sand its really nice to walk on if u can successfully get over the massive rock pile. sometimes u cant swim in the water which is sad bc its really pretty but they have a sign up about the water quality at any given time so u know whats up. beautiful views up the coast. overall a banger

Great place for a picnic or to just hang out and enjoy the beautiful view. Plenty of car parks. Public toilets at the end of the car park. From the look of them on the outside they could do with a complete renovation. Nice looking beach with rocky bolders leading down to the beach. Beautiful location to catch the afternoon sun. Or hang out under one of the many trees in the shade. Picnic tables are located next to the car park. And rubbish bins close by.

It's a beautiful spot but the beach is very small and not easily accessible for many people since you have to walk down a hill of stones. It's a great place to stop for a picnic, to get out and stretch your legs when travelling, or to sit down and relax or read. I see very few people who swim there and with so many rocks in the water, it might not be a great idea. Nevertheless, it is beautiful-especially when the sun is setting.

Beautiful beach with views of cliffs to the north and fun dunes for play or fitness the other way. Very rocky so can be hard to access if you have trouble on unstable grounds. Can watch big ships in the horizon as they head into and out of New Plymouth port. Toilets are kept reasonably well, and they have many picnic benches for family Fish 'n' Chips. And if you start when the tide is going out, you can walk along the beach into New Plymouth (just gotta be careful around the Waiwhakaiao...
