Higgins Heritage Park — Attraction in Tasman

All of the people looking after and maintaining the machines are all too willing to have a chat and explain all about any and everything. Really interesting place, we went during the week so missed out on seeing all the sheds open but there is still plenty to look at, old vehicles, trains and farming equipment. The Steam days look like loads of fun! If you are an NZMCA member you can camp onsite for $5 a night which is great, nice peaceful place to stay and freshwater available for a donation. Pretty great...

We make a point of going out to this fantastic family friendly place at least once a year with the kids. Great to be able to show them how things were done in the "olden days" and give them a sense of perspectives outside of their reality. Super important that places like this are able to continue...
