We walk around this reserve frequently. The local lions club have recently been and were actively working hard in the heat and humidity to restore with native planting, erecting benches ect, and have extended/redirected a walk across the other side of the track leading up to the par site. Someone even leaves shallow containers of water for the kiwi and other bird life residing there. One word of warning.. Just be careful about parking your vehicles in the car park. Path not well maintained and very overgrown. I’d recommend going and walk up first gravel path hill and halfway down grass hill stopping where the fence finishes for a good view. Don’t bother going further as the view is completely blocked the rest of the way with muddy,...

Great views, and really well maintained paths here, with benches etc. Can bring your dog (on a leash) which was great. Can do all the different paths in under an hour, the main loop is about 30 minutes. Give yourself a bit of extra time to sit and enjoy the views.
