A great place to stay or just visit, with the museum and launch trips, and a nice relaxing place to spend time. There is also room for caravans and motor homes to stay over, both with or without power. We did the launch trip with Colin and Dave on Thursday 2nd January and got a good humoured description of the history of the area from them, along with the amazing work the volunteers do to maintain the park, especially after it was inundated by flooding from cyclone Gabriel. They also do wedding receptions, with the Bride and Groom transported by launch to the venue. Not to forget Peter in the museum, as he has an amazing knowledge of the marine environment and history of the area, as well as general experience as a skipper. Great humour to go with it. Gloria, Colin’s wife, was the person I dealt with on the phone, and was very helpful organising the launch trip for us. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to meet her due to other commitments. Read moreIf u like a quiet place a little time on the boat, not much to see however it was quiet and then u can have lunch if u have brought it with you, nice sitting out benches, there was free tea and coffe with cake and above all the staff are all volunteers and are very friendly, some beautiful ducks, some birds to see in their respective confinement and a naughty cat called Mower doesn't like to be touched so beware. Then u go to reception and they have some cool things with regards to ship some old time ship.. interesting.. In short if u like some history on ships and a quiet picnic...
