Me my son and his dad came in tonight for a bowl. We both used to work at (one of) the best centres in nz so our expectations may have been unfairly high however;
They booked us in on the wrong day so we arrived while the league was still bowling. We understand that can happen so we were happy to wait. We strolled through the arcade games while waiting. You would never guess this place opened this year. Broken machines. Very dirty. Unbelievable.
The 2 water feature tables we sat at both had a water filled bucket underneath im guessing to catch leaks.
When we finally started bowling technical errors started to occur. Had to call for help a few times, so decided to give up calling for help the 5 or 6 times the game kept skipping the second frame of a turn and resetting tp start the next persons turn instead.
There were that we could see at least 8 staff on, all doing a bunch of nothing and only 1 wearing a mask.
Mid game i went to the counter to get my son a drink. Was not impressed to get completely ignored for several minutes by all 5 staff behind the counter.
At the end we asked for a score printout. A must have for memory tokens for kids. The guy behind the counter looked at me with disgust and just said 'printers broken' not sure i believed him tbh.
Owners/management should be over the moon that they have no other indoor entertainment competition around here cz they would go broke. The place is disgusting and its an embarrassment knowing its only been open a few months. Would hate to see how it looks in a years time. Ew
We did have fun but we will definitely just make the trip to rotorua or...
Read moreWe visited this place after driving past and wondering what was inside. When we arrived, we were kindly greeted by a staff member who let us know about the bowling, arcade games, tramp Park and ninja course. Being covid alert level 2, I was very concerned that this staff member was not wearing a mask, I then looked around the building to see that in fact there were only 2 staff members of about 8 that had masks on. The place was also packed with guests as the business bowling league was on, and not a single person in this building apart from myself, my partner and 2 staff members had a mask on. We decided to have a go on the arcade games, which looked awesome from the front counter. Once we actually approached these, we noticed that only half of the games were actually in working order. The games that were working either had balls missing or the screens were faulty. We mentioned this to a staff member who abruptly told us that "obviously its broken, there's nothing I can do about it right now" then walked away.
I am hoping to come back and try out the bowling, and hope that maybe things have changed being a new operation and all but it's safe to say my first experience was not at...
Read moreCould be a really great place, unfortunately this time we were let down. They simply opened too early and weren't set up properly. I booked two lanes for 7.30 the night before, they took all of my details but nothing was booked when we arrived. The guy on the counter was nice and found us a spot on a lane but we could only play one game. We wore our own shoes which was weird and didn't give us the slip needed to play properly. A good deal of the arcade machines were off too. The jump park section looks good though, great for kids. It was incredibly loud, there was nothing to dampen the noise. The place looks great though, I'm sure in a few months they'll have their stuff sorted out. I might give it a...
