McGrath Estate — Attraction in Waitākere Ranges

We recently had our wedding at McGrath Estate, and it was absolutely phenomenal. The venue is stunning—beautiful and raw, with the barn offering a blank canvas to bring your own decor vision to life. It complemented our bright sunset colours perfectly! The venue also has so many breathtaking spots for photos. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how much they loved it!

Matt and Emma were fantastic throughout the entire planning process. They were so accommodating, allowing us to visit the site multiple times to show our parents and photographer. They also gave us great tips on setup and positioning. When we decided to change our ceremony location last minute, they worked quickly to switch parts of the spot from mud to grass within just a few weeks. On the day of the wedding, Matt was incredibly supportive, coordinating with the MC to ensure everything ran smoothly. It was also so fun getting to know Matt on the site visits and hear about the history of the estate.

We highly recommend McGrath Estate to anyone who loves DIY and wants a venue that gives you the freedom to add your own creative touch.

We just had our wedding at McGrath Estate and absolutely loved it!! I feel sometimes with wedding venues you can feel like just a number, what made us choose McGrath Estate was that from the start this just wasn't the case. It felt a lot more personable and also just adaptable to your needs. Matt and Emma were great, super friendly and easy to communicate with. My (probably) excessive emails were always welcomed and responses were always thorough. The venue is great in that you can do what you want with the space, so you can really make it your own and there's some cool touches like the festoon lights inside and out which creates the best atmosphere. Despite the rustic vibe of the barn we could still adapt this to a more black tie vibe and it was incredible. On the day, the team were always ready to help and working alongside our MC and family, meant the day ran incredibly smoothly. Just had our wedding at McGrath on the weekend.

We absolutely loved it and so did our guest. Stunning views if you are using the home paddock as your ceremony spot, and the barn at the bottom of the hill adds that rustic feel to it. Our guest couldn’t stop talking about how amazing the venues views were as well as the hospitality of the venue owners.
