My wife and I drove down to the car park at Lake Hauroko to have a look and maybe a walk. Ran in to Roffy and some cheerful Aussies and were quickly persuaded to join them jet boating on the Wairaurahiri river instead. What a brilliant day out. Really exciting jet boating through pure, untouched wilderness and it was magic to get all the way to the ocean. Comfortable spot for lunch at a coastal hiking/hunting lodge. Lovely stroll on the beach and a quick bush walk through some of that magical forest, then back up the river and home. Roffy was great company and a great guide, we felt perfectly safe throughout, he provided decent wet weather gear (mine was brand new). Weather was typical crazy New Zealand, a brief hail storm at one point but plenty of sunshine for some great photos. Dress up warm! We did this in early March and I wore 4 up, 2 down with Roffy's kit on top plus woolly hat and gloves!

This trip was on Dad’s bucket list and did not disappoint! Roffy is a great operator, lots of knowledge, fun day right from the time we met him at the jetty. Super easy to deal with, arranging our trip from Australia. Flexible with the day which meant we could get the best weather day which made our day even better. Beautiful scenery, amazing food - best venison we’ve had!! Will definitely recommend to others!! Thanks Roffy!

Unlike the Queenstown Jetboat experience, this ride is the real thing--across a beautiful lake and down the Wairaurahiri River to the sea. It's breathtaking, exciting, and just plain gorgeous. Johan is an excellent guide and cooks you a delicious lunch at the the lodge near the sea. We spent the night and came back the next day, or you can go down and back in one trip. There are opportunities to walk by the ocean and cross a swing bridge, or you can take it easy and just enjoy the scenery. You will learn about the history of the area and what's being done to save the native birds from imported predators. Bring a warm hat as your ears might get cold--the boat goes fast!! Reserve a spot early, and aim to do the trip before late March when there might not be enough water in the river to do the...

Stumbled across these guys on our honeymoon totally by chance and we're so glad we did! The Roffy brothers are true blue kiwis who treat you like a person, not a paycheck. It's a super fun thrill skipping over the lake at speeds, and the exhilaration only amps up when you speed down the river narrowly avoiding rocks and trees! They are genuinely good blokes who are super knowledgeable about the area and are passionate about what they do and where they are. We tried pepperwood and drank the pure water straight from the river, it was such a treat! Highly recommended this outfit, in fact we honestly can't recommend these guys enough! Great value, you won't be...
