This walk was really nice. I loved it. There's a carpark that you start your walk from, then you cross a swing bridge into the woods. It's just so divine and relaxing. The sounds of the birds, and the river and little waterfalls, then you get to the dam. Only a short easy walk too. I could have stayed sitting at the bottom of the dam a good hour, so good for your mental health! Somebody told us there was an uphill walk from the damn to a lookout area. So we did it, and it was hard!!! And the lookout out bench? All the bushes had overgrown, couldn't see a thing! Omg we laughed. But seriously the council need to cut those back. And the day after my legs were aching after that uphill hike!!...

CAUTION OCT 2019 ...DoC and UHCC keep the pest species under control with Brodificum (blood thinner among other nasty things) in this area, hence the dead fish from runoff water into the dam and also your dog if you let it run free and it gets into a poisoned carcass.
