Redwood bush reserve is an old-growth forest with nature path. Also a dog friendly walkway. Itā€™s good to take your dog walk inside the forest with full shadows. On the top of the reserve is a private farm with iron fence. You can see Churton park and Porirua harbour. Some path are very steep, and quite muddy after rain. Better walk on the main path, or grab the tree branch to prevent slip. There are many wild mushroom inside, be careful if...

Love this smallish reserve, some of the largest Tawa and Kohekohe trees you'll find anywhere. Short tracks with plenty to see as you move from old growth to regrowth bush. Good variety of plants in the canopy and subcanopy to botanise with some new signage to help you identify that tree. Tracks are pretty basic and not really...
