This place was by far the best museum in Nicaragua. The amount you learn from the students giving you a tour is mind blowing. They are more educated than the students in the USA going to college for archaeology. William Stiven speaks impeccable English and was able to translate everything to us. You would have never known he was still practicing English. Juan Pablo Mayoroga Picado is so intelligent. The museum is located on school grounds the kids give the tour and it is phenomenal. Amazing archaeological museum with artifacts from all over Nicaragua (this is not just local Chinandega sites). Maya trade from Guatemala and Inca trade from far away Peru came through this area.
