This was in interesting place if you are in this part of the country already (this is a pretty untraveled area for most tourists). Is it worth taking a side trip from Somoto on a busy backpacking trip? Maybe. There are other things to discover in the area and I'll leave those at that. It was more expensive than we thought it should be especially compared to other water features in Nicaragua and with the low attendance I would suspect this area to get tourist wise. I don't remember exactly how much it was but I believe it was more than $5 each (may have been closer to $10). This would have been fine except that you have to pay more to sit in the pools that are actually hot. Otherwise you only get to sit in a lukewarm pool. The road in is fairly long and muddy/unpaved. There is no place to stay on the site although you may be able to ask locals around for a place to stay if you are into that. Bring food to cook in the thermal kitchens! Read moreEl acceso es un poco difícil porque el camino está en malas condiciones, pero vale la pena el viaje. La entrada cuesta solo 35 córdobas por tres horas de estancia y la muchacha que atiende es muy amable, tiene agua, jugos y algunas veces frutas de venta. El lugar no es muy grande, hay tres piscinas pequeñas de aguas termales y una mas grandecita de agua fresca. Todas tienen cerca bancas y vestidores para acomodar las cosas, pero es más recomendable llegar con la ropa que se va a sumergir puesta. También hay servicios higiénicos disponibles, pero hay que llevar papel sanitario y jabón de manos. La experiencia de sumergirse en las aguas al inicio es impresionante porque esta bien caliente y da la sensación de quemar, pero después de un rato es muy reconfortante, al inicio molesta un poco el olor a azufre.
