Very beautiful waterfall and cave right outside of Matagualpa. If you are in this part of Nicaragua it's a most stop attraction! The owner is very friendly and speaks English, he invested a lot into making this very nice eco-friendly tourist spot for people from all over the world to come and visit and share in the beauty of Nicaragua. Prices are reasonable, 20 cords to park your vehicle in a secure area, 200 cords entry per person into the waterfall and cave with no time limit. With entry you are then able to use your ticket as a 100 Cordobas voucher for food or drink at the restaurant or bar which I highly recommend. The food was delicious at the restaurant and worth the wait. Enjoy this place and please remember to clean up after yourself, don't leave trash behind on the waterfall trail, there are trash cans all around. Also, if you bring your own refillable water cantina you can fill it up at one of many stations for 10...
Read moreWe stayed here for one night with our 3 young kids and enjoyed a swim, hike, cave and falls. It was fun to have the deck and restaurant to ourselves for dinner and games. We loved falling asleep to the sound of the waterfall. It is a very beautiful place. In the morning we went to the cave before the place opened and had a lot of fun with chasing over a 100 bats that were in the cave.
Dinner and breakfast came with the overnight stay and was disappointed there was only the option of breakfast for dinner. The mosquito netting in our room for most of the beds did not cover the whole bed and had lots of holes. Other than that rooms and comfort of beds were good. Location of room was perfect. We found the people here were not that friendly but maybe it was because we could only speak a little Spanish. Cave and beauty of the area made this a 4...
Read moreMy wife and I just spent two nights at Eco-Lodge Cascada Blanca in the hills of Matagulpa. I have to say we enjoyed ourselves immensely. The sound of the river and waterfall was very soothing especially at night. We explored the cave and waterfall as well as the down stream river. If you are into nature and bird watching this is an excellent place to stay. All the staff (and there are many) were all very helpful and kind. We asked for help carrying our luggage down as well as up the many and I mean many steps and they gladly helped. The restaurant food was very good as was the waiters. I can honestly say I recommend this Eco-lodge without hesitation. Go visit and enjoy. The only warning is there are a lot of steps so be in semi good shape. I being older and out of shape still enjoyed the stay, just had to...
