We visited in May 2021 and spent a Sunday with the Parque Adventure team. Ariel and Jose were great guides with animals, ziplines, iguanas, and scenic views. You park off the side of the road where they pick you up in a large all terrain vehicle, then you're off to the jungle! The road to the main location is exciting and makes you feel like you're in Jurassic Park. On the way in we saw a sloth, giant blue butterflies, and howler monkeys.
The ziplines were amazing and stretched across 10 different ziplines with the longest one reaching 300m and one of them where you can zip upside down. I absolutely recommend the Tarzan swing and turning upside down while you're doing it, it's fun - I promise!
We did the full package with the Zipline, Tarzan swing, and iguana sanctuary. It's clear when talking to Ariel and Jose that they care deeply for the endangered iguana population in the nature reserve. We got to hold baby iguanas and learn about their traits and current population status.
When you finish with everything, there's a big deck with breathtaking views, drinks, snacks, and a water fountain for animals where we saw a huge hocofaisán (look it up, it's awesome). On our new at back, we were lucky enough to see two sloths and two black iguanas! The best part of the experience was definitely Ariel and Jose, who made the day very enjoyable and educational.
COVID precautions: the staff wore masks the whole time, and outdoor activities where you're spaced out are as safe as you can get. If you do one thing in San Juan del...
Read moreWe had the most special time at San Juan del Sur Adventure Park — an experience we’ll never forget. The whole team was fantastic, and we felt especially lucky to be guided by Gustavo (I hope that’s right!), who we believe might be the owner. His knowledge, warmth, and deep passion for the park shone through in everything he shared. You could tell he’s poured his heart into the place over many years.
We skipped the zip lines this time and chose the nature trail instead — and wow, what a treat. We saw sloths, monkeys, birds… no toucans this time, but we suspect the weather had something to do with that. Gustavo gave fascinating explanations throughout — it honestly felt more like a private tour than a group one. He’s clearly incredibly cultured and informed, and we walked away having learned so much.
It’s rare for us to post reviews like this, but when something is truly exceptional, it deserves to be shouted about. This park offers outstanding value and is a must-do if you’re in the area. It’s just minutes from town, and whether you’re into zip-lining or soaking in the natural beauty, there’s something for everyone. (Our brave 11-year-old was the only one of us who wanted to take on the zip lines — but the others there, who were also brave enough, were clearly loving it!)
We wholeheartedly recommend this experience. It’s easily one of the best things we’ve ever done as a family on a vacation — five stars,...
Read moreWhat a wonderful and adrenaline filled experience in San Juan! I had an amazing time with my 9 year old daughter doing the adventure tour. The staff here are incredible, and a special shout out to Aerial for his kind demeanour to children and super courteous and informative tour skills. The entire team take such good care of everyone and make sure everyone is safe, comfortable, and having a ton of fun! The safety of their zip lines is top notch with quality harnesses, safety lines, helmets, protective glove and braking system, even for small children who can’t break themselves. The 10 platforms include a really good variety of styles and lengths, even some non typical ones that I’ve never seen before that make it very exciting and fun. I would definitely recommend trying out this adventure in San Juan as one of my top 3 things to do here. The 4x4 ride up to the top and views are worth it alone and with the viewing platform at the top and leisure area means anyone can go and hang out even if they aren’t going to do the zip lines. Overall a 10/10 experience. Good for young and old, and all comfort levels. I’ll be...
