This view point is one of the main tourist attractions in the town of San Juan Del Sur.
The entrance to the hill is situated all the way to the right side of the beach. I was advised by some travellers that it is not safe to visit here alone or at evening but I never felt that it was dangerous during my walk to the entrance and/or the hike to the top.
The hill is very steep but it doesn’t take too long to get to the top. You need to pay a small fee to a guard to access the view point.
Once you get to the top, you can see the entire bay of SJDS. You can also see the southern part of the town such as Playa Maderas from here also.

From there we walked up the main road to the point a security guard was manning a gate for cars. I would recommend getting a ride to this point as the road is the steepest road I’ve ever been on, so it’s not ideal to walk up.
