Ibeno Local Government Area is located at the South end of Akwa Ibom State, occupying a vast coastal area of over 1,200 sq. km. It stretches from Okposo I at the eastern flank, bordering Mbo Local Government Area and Bakassi Pennisula to Atabrikang village on its Western flank. It is bounded in the South by the Atlantic Ocean and shares border with Eket, Esit Eket, Onna and Eastern Obolo local government areas. Ibeno Beach stretches for about 30 kilometres from Ibeno to James Town along the Atlantic coastline of Akwa Ibom State in Nigeria. It is said to be the longest beach in West Africa. With its beautiful coastline, Ibeno provides endless natural facilities for tourism, water sporting, beach soccer and general boating. The endless white sand dunes extending as far as the eyes can see along the Atlantic are unaltered by the waves that pour violently on the seashore. History has it that the area was first occupied around 1200-1500 BC by Ibeno indigenes. The alluring array of trees lined along the beach provides good shelter from the burning rays of the sun for visitors looking for shade after sunbathing or taking strolls about the place. The beach provides an ample view of the Gulf of Guinea over which the scattered gas flares from ExxonMobil offshore oil platforms create a scintillating image of flaming tongues of fire on the sea. Ibeno beach is the longest sand beach and most popular beach in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. It’s a fantastic beach that showcases the best of natural Nigeria. Ibeno beach is located in Ibeno Local Government Area and is South of Eket LGA. Ibeno is also very popular for tourism since it was the landing site of the qua Ibo christian missions from scotland which was one of the most successful christian missions in Nigeria, in the early 20th century leading to the conversion of many Nigerians to the faith, Ibeno Houses a lot of relic of that missionary expedition. Ibeno is also home to the Mobil/Exxon QIT terminal where crude oil is processed for export all over the world and has seasoned guards on patrol 24 hours a day to keep visitors safe and to ensure orderliness.

One of the longest sand seashores in Africa, Ibeno Beach is located in western Africa. Along the shorelines of Ibeno in south-east Nigeria, the beach is on the land of local government of the area. Ibeno beach, which stretches 45km from Ibeno to James Town, Akwa Ibom, is the longest beach in Africa. Ibeno beach is one of the beaches on the Atlantic Ocean, and it's located in Ibeno local government, Akwa Ibom state, southeastern Nigeria. Ibeno beach is highly rated because of its peaceful and safe surroundings. It is the most popular beach in Akwa Ibom. Although Ibeno is now a popular tourist atttraction because of its beach, the area has some history too. Ibeno was the landing site for one of the most successful christian missions in Nigeria - the Qua Iboe christian mission from Scotland which arrived in the early 20th century. Relics of that missionary expedition also attract tourists to the area. In 2013, the federal government constructed the Ibeno bridge to attract tourists and improve other economic activities in the area. As ExxonMobil operational headquarters is at Qua Iboe terminal, Ibeno, seasoned guards patrol the area 24/7 to keep visitors safe and to ensure orderliness. Tourists can enjoy a stroll along the beach, play beach soccer, also have fun at water sports and boating. Before heading to Ibeno beach here are some things to go along with; Flip flops, sun screen, face cap, swim wear, head gear, sports wear, a camera to take pictures with the view of the beach. The beach itself is a must see as it is the longest beach in Africa. The beach has a bridge which was built by the federal government. Most people you will find here are tourists, families, couples, class groups, fun lovers. To relax after a long week at the office, for family bonding.

Longest sand #Beach in west Africa. Beach is the best place to have fun for those who cherries creatures. Are you feeling depression while not take a walk on the beach to clear your head. What took me here is because it was one of the longest sand beach in my zone. Second was to see the exxmobil company I'm dreaming to work with. The community go to toilet here and there. Please watch well while you walk. There are place where you can lodge. But I lodge in eket ,their service was so good. If you are coming from south south the best route is Rivers state. But if you what to access the beach from South east the fastest route is through #Umuahia to #Uyo. Reason this road has less check point. Drink and food are what is common on the beach. They said the horse man comes on Sundays in case you want take picture with horse while riding. You can enjoy football and other games but prepare and come with your game. Safety on the beach is in your hands because there is no diver waiting to rescue you. The only high current check is that of the company. No boat no flying jacket to hire. Company workers are those who makes this place happing. If you are planning to pass a night here the beach become happening towards evening when company workers much have close for work. Why not target on Sundays. Will love to revisit here to take more picture and video. You can come alone, pick a community person to help you take photography or you can come as a group. This is my third beach visit.

While Ibeno Beach is a highly recommended tourist centre in Akwa Ibom State and being the longest waterfront beach in West Africa, I am dissapointed at the undervelopment of the place. Aside the constant wave of the sea, nothing makes the place a beach. The water is not clean and not safe for swimming, the environment is dirty, there are no boats, horse, or games to spice up the place. Overall, it's just raw and need investment. For the Records, coconut water is cheap, N250 per one.. The fish berbeque is in the range of N2,000 - N3,000. Beer 🍻 are N500 per bottle. I wish there was more to explore at this location than just the moving water and the huge waterfront... Hopefully, it would have been developed when YOU are visiting.

It's ok for what it is but not exactly delightful when you compare it to other beaches in Lagos. The color appears brownish. For those who are used to the sky blue or emerald green reflection of beaches may be a little disappointed. The area requires constant cleaning. You find debris deposits all over. The landscaping of the surroundings requires a professional touch. Some of the entertainment centers are uncompleted and looking shabby. I think the government or community, whoever is managing it, should look at what's obtainable in other places and follow suit. Unfortunately, that's what we have at the moment so we have to make do. Not a bad place for family relaxation. I hear the area is safe too, security wise.

Its a place to feel the freshness of nature. The weather is so refreshing. There's a volleyball court there where you can play. There's eatery there where you can buy soft and alcoholic drinks, suya, etc. Things are not that expensive, they are very affordable for your enjoyment. The beach attracts people from all over the nation. The location of the beach is nice for tourism and beach party. It's very accessible and with good road networks. It's a good place for picnics. The working hours are enough for your enjoyment. It has good entrance for vehicles. It's a very nice place to be. The sight of the waves of the beach is something else. It's very enticing. You can try it out during your leisure hours.
