This is a lake that is partially seen as you cross the Bridge at Agulu. The Anambra State Government has a beautiful Hotel beside the Lake for people who may like the waterside views of the Lake or a quiet place. Much of the Lake is in Nri which is a neighbouring town that has a school beside the Lake called, "Lake City Secondary School, Nri." It was formally a Girls' Secondary School until it was changed to be for both boys and girls. The lake has so many palm trees by her banks for palm wine tapping. This Lake is very extensive but very dangerous. There are Crocodiles in it that were non violent initially as people in the surrounding villages from Agulu and Nri towns used to go there to fetch water, wash their clothes, mash their vegetables for bitterleaf soup and do some fishing with Canoes. Fr. Prof. B.A.C. Obiefuna and some Catholic Charismatic Renewal members of the Catholic Diocese of Awka came with guns and killed some Crocodiles. Then the myths about the Crocodiles being divine and untouchables reduced and people started fighting back and the beasts attacks stopped momentarily but...

Golden Tulip Hotel, I think 5 Star flanks it at the other side, while an old construction company splits the lake at the other. So many myths surround this lake, from how a man, a sojourner who sought for a piece of land, to the whole village waking up to seeing the apportioned land flooded; so the man became the river. The local can tell better which they believe is close to true, at least to what they believe. There are numerous crocodiles here. Sometimes, they come up to the bank and sunbathe. Prior to the construction of the bridge, these monstrous reptiles came over the road and scare. It is interesting to find a canoe on the late today, probably the man was fishing or went for rounds on his palm trees. Wouldn't have believed fishes are present here, had I not seen...
