Contrary to the pictures posted on their page. Or travel sites. The arakhuan camp is much more old and rusty. There's only one tap from which water is fetched. But there's always water. The amount of bees present in that place is too much and if one goes with scented anything or coloured clothing, you could be attacked. The pool is in a very bad condition and different algae can be seen growing in it. The tree house is tall and beautiful but there are two. The old one and the new. We visited various places in the national park and saw the white throated guenos and we saw the elephant trail and buffaloes trail . there's a two bungalow buildings which students on research usually stay. There is also a cafeteria there but if you're going on a field trip there for a week or more, you have to make provision for your own food. The journey from the gate (not the main gate but the one leading to the camp is about 2.2km and the journey when rainy is very unpleasant as tree logs fell on the road and the road gets more narrow . i saw the famous cinchona which is where quinine is gotten and also aphrodiasacs and Baphia nitida which dye can be gotten from ,various timber trees and so on. It was not a very bad trip but I feel the camp should be renovated to ensure better enjoyment...

Nationalpark now if there is anything I have learnt, its that you can not waltz into a national park at any given time of the day and say where are the #elephants I am here now.
You must invest your time if you wish to experience the wildlife in national parks. Ideally early mornings or at dawn are perfect for observing wildlife. Knowing this we opted for getting to know the forest and climbing the 140ft tree house in #okomunational park
