I went to unity park yesterday the 12th day of June, on Sunday to go and refresh my head with my little baby and my son together with my Aunt who came visiting. But i was shamed when the security guards asked me not to go in with my nylon of popcorn and coke. I asked him why because i needed to know, also this is the same park i do go to with my son and hubby last year and early this year with same popcorn and cokes. I was furious, he later said i should calm down that i should relax and was looking at me with the hopes that i would give him tips(bribe) to let me in. I told him, this is my park o, we usually come in here with food items o. That the only thing i know prohibited here is not to throw dirts on the ground, after eating we do pick the dirts on the ground and dump in the waste baskets in the park. He stupidly pointed to a post on the wall there with caption.. No food is allowed in. When did this one started? Kindly make me understand this cos I'm loosing it, i need to report that boy and several others in cohort with him to desist from such act. I simply can't bribe you to let me inside our own unity park na....
Read moreSights from the only 📍Unity Park in Enugu state. Has turned from just a lonely path with tree clusters only open to the brave hearted ones to a magnificent place open for the general public.
One of the iconic features being the 42ft high Lion sculpture standing gidigbam in the centre making sure not to take your eyes away from the park yet.
The lion statue has a narrow stairway winding up to the top where you can sit comfortably on the open mouth of the king of the jungle like a king in paradise. Isn't that such a beautiful feeling?
The park features also scattered throughout sitting platforms for one, for two and more. With tarred walkways leading to major areas.
Also features a pond and some other sculptures of say two women🤔🧎🏿♀️🧎🏾♂️ Everyone loves to get a picture of this lion and you just can't wait to showcase it on the streets of Instagram that you visited Coal city state with the lion-in-the-background pictures. .. Would you...
Read moreThis park has a problem with mosquitoes. The mosquitoes there are ABUNDANT. They follow you everywhere you go. I wish I was making this up, but I'm not. I literally had to flee the last time I was there and made sure to go treat for malaria afterwards. The number of mosquitoes I saw at this park I have never seen in one place in my whole life. They swarm all over you in millions. Again, I'm not making this up. Otherwise, the mosquitoes as an aside, I like the serenity of the park. It is a nice getaway from the bustle and nosiness of civilization, although some maintenance would do the park some real good. I didn't like how some parts were overstrewn with weed. I fear and worry about the likelihood of those places harbouring wild animals like snakes and dangerous insects. The park is just poorly managed, in my opinion. I believe the government...
