This National Park is situated around Lugbe-Airport road in the FCT. Beautiful and serene environment with natural trees preserved in the Arboretum (I actually learnt this word on visiting this awesome place lol). It also has an animal orphanage where animals are being looked after for a period of time for social and official retraining and readjustment before being released back to the wild. Animals are are never sold or bought but donated by organizations and individuals in the society. The tour guide in person of Mr Bitrus is highly knowledgeable about the National Park, he walked us through the forest, monkey cages, tortoise park (oldest here is 80 years), aviary consisting of different bird species most especially parrots, peacock and peahens, porcupine, crocodiles, deer, dikkah, baboon. They have about 6 different species of monkeys. I was opportuned to have touched a deer 🦌 for the first time in my life, with is hard shiny and oily fur, such a beautiful experience that I'll remember for the rest of my life. Lastly, there's a museum here as well, where the remains and body parts of various endangered species are preserved. Their hides/skins, baby elephant hoofs, skulls, tusks, horns of various animals, skin skin, butterflies (over 50 species), Dane guns, traps and so on. Such a beautiful place to behold if you visit Abuja, I'll encourage you to visit, you'll spend less than $10 for this tour. There's also space for outdoor camping for adventure lovers.

Nice, affordable family spot surrounded in animals and nature. (Most animals are not caged) The staff are nice and knowledgable. The tour covers the museum, arboretum, animal orphanage and mini zoo. Museum has real fossils of a variety of animals including elephants ad snakes etc. PRICE 200n adults, 100 kids Playground 200n each. *note for owner - the key for the playground should be left in the office. The first time we went we had to wait a long time for someone to arrive with the key. The second time the children were not able to enter the playground as it was locked. The National park service is located along the airport road, Abuja. The place has 3 sections: the animal orphanage, the animal museum and the open wild area where the animals live and walk freely in the wild.

If you ever want to sit down in a very natural, wild and safe environment, watching animals walk around in their natural environment while having fun with family and friends, this is your place.

There is provision for camping so if you ever want to experience camping this is also where you want to be.

The tour guide was really nice and was ready to answer every question asked.

The animals are not really much but you can still have the fun that comes with being...
