The place is nice looking, but could do with a bit of maintainance. The ambiance is OK and the decoration us not bad. There are two domes that offer indoor seating, then there is a patio and a viewing deck and green space. Ample parking Not crowded, lots of available seating.

The food is actually excellent. In fact it might be the best grill in Abuja. Chicken, beef and ram are all top notch. The fries are pretty good too.

The main problems with this place are 1. The portion size/price. We got the 20k meat platter and it's not enough food for 2 people. Dinner for two people with 2 starters, the aforementioned platter and a bottle of wine was nearly 50k.

The service is quite poor. More than half the menu items are unavailable. The staff are not familiar with the items. The wait time for the food is too long. 30 minutes for the starters and nearly an hour for the mains.

Then there are the insects. The place is near a body of water (which I think is Jabi lake) the pier is actually overlooking a marsh. The net result is mosquitoes, moths and everything in between. Even sitting inside the insects are a problem.

Overall, if you want to impress a date it might be a nice place to go once. But I'm not sure how much repeat business they are...

My third experience at the Pier but my first as a dine-in guest. I got here just after work hours so the beauty of the place wasn’t glorious to behold till it got dark. If you’re not careful, you’d miss your turn into the restaurant. The drive-in can be scary. I suggest more lights.

Our smiling waitress, Kele was a joy as she kept making sure we were comfortable all through. We placed our orders.

Starter: ‘Starter Platter’

Mains: Fish Pepper soup; Arabian Grilled Chicken with Sautéed Potatoes

Drinks: Fresh Daiquiri & Banana Strawberry Blend.

The meal was delicious and filling and the prices very good. Orders came in a bit late but not bad. The Starter Platter was a hit as well.

The ambience at night is beautiful and the pod like spaces were nice and chilly. I like the fact that there’s a smokers and non-smokers pod. This should make smokers feel good. The music on cue was great also till someone changed the playlist (probably a Burna Boy fan. Lol).

Concerns: Lights outside Get rid of the bushes clean the lake or find solution to the smell Get food pans for the cats so they don’t act like strays

Kudos: Very neat toilet great Parking space Good...

So the good first...the pier has a very wonderful and cozy setup. Especially at night, the lights, the dome cutouts and the cool breeze blowing in from the lake...it's really beautiful...and then they bring you back to earth.

They offer a very limited menu and the final dish was mostly bland and very underwhelming. The drinks are ok...every order takes a bit too long though.

The absolute worst and I hope they change it as soon as possible was the live band. Absolutely terrible...I can't even begin to tell you how bad it was. Absolutely terrible choice of songs...no energy and a completely lackluster performance.

I'm sure it can be better but for a place that intends to raise the bar in outdoor dining in the city center...there is still much to...

The Pier is a nice restaurant with a unique and striking ambience. The dome shaped rooms are the most outstanding feature and were fun to explore. I went at night and the changing lights in the domes are a lovely touch. I loved the lighting in the garden area and the unique crafting of wood for most of the furnishing. The floor boards and the deck overlooking the garden are also crated with wood but a bit shaky. We had the buffalo wings and chicken sandwich which were just okay. The service was quick and satisfactory. Altogether a good spot for a relaxed evening out with friends or your significant other.

It's okay but being still hungry after spending 13k Naira. Prices like in Hilton butyou actually don't get what you pay for. Everything is built from cheapest materials. I doubt that this wooden columns even fulfill the static requirements to carry a second floor. The service was fast and actually the food was well prepared and tasty but 4 small chicken wings for 1800 and the talapia without any sides for 4000. There are many places in Abuja where you get more for this prices. Ahh, they should move the genset if can afford a longer cable. It's not really topnotch to breath in all that fumes...
