In a bid to contribute its quota to the Nigerian University space fueled by the ruins of public universities in the Nation, Bingham University located in Karu, 26 kilometres away from the Federal Capital city of Nigeria, Abuja was founded in 2005 by the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA). The founders had as a goal, the revitalization of the golden age of high quality and morally sound mission education up to the tertiary level. Read moreBingham is privately owned and run by a Christian organisation, the ECWA, it is not different from a typical Nigerian public University except on strike actions. Bingham operations is still analog (in the 90s) hostel accommodation is without running water and in an "unfavourable" living condition. If you are planning to check in your ward to the hostel (all students are Resident) your remita receipts for school fees, health insurance and allotment of rooms does not admit, prepare for a 10 hours harsh process through payment of 4000 naira Students Rep fee with 2 persons assigned to manually issue tellers to a 1000 ration students, 2 to manually issue receipts, 1 person to stamp per 1000 and another 3 persons to manually sign the stamped allotment paper. The entire process (paper work) is choatic and exhausting especially to first timers and old students who had to wait out under the scorching sun and the subsequent showers of rain. The Management should look into automation of their entire process and improve students living conditions especially in the old hostels. Plus Denim (Jean) is not allowed on campus, ladies are allowed skirts and dresses, NO pants except scrubs for nursing students. ...with large expanse of land, Bingham...
Read moreBingham University is just like a typical glorified Nigerian secondary school. The environment is not conducive to learning, and miserable-looking structures without adequate conveniences. the University uses a very archaic and outdated process of registration. I think this university is just taking advantage of the ASUU strike to treat parents and students in a very condescending manner, if not I am sure many parents would have withdrawn their kids, for this persistent nonchalant attitude to improve their service delivery. I do not recommend it for students looking for a conducive living environment as the hostels are without running water and still use a...
