A Cultural Gem in Ososa - Ogunde Museum

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Ogunde Museum in Ososa, and I must say it was an extraordinary experience that left a lasting impression on me. This cultural gem offers a captivating glimpse into the rich heritage of Nigeria, particularly through the legacy of Chief Hubert Ogunde.

The museum itself is beautifully curated, with each exhibit thoughtfully arranged to showcase the life, accomplishments, and artistic contributions of Chief Hubert Ogunde. From his early days as a playwright and theater director to his influential role in promoting Nigerian culture, every aspect is well-documented and engaging.

Walking through the museum, I was enthralled by the diverse collection of photographs, artifacts, costumes, and audiovisual displays that provided a comprehensive understanding of Chief Ogunde's impact on Nigerian theater and his commitment to preserving traditional arts.

The museum staff were welcoming, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing their expertise with visitors. They provided valuable insights, answering questions, and sharing fascinating anecdotes about Chief Ogunde's life and his contributions to Nigerian culture.

The museum also features a serene outdoor area, surrounded by lush greenery, where visitors can relax and reflect on the exhibits they have seen. It's a peaceful oasis that enhances the overall experience and allows for a deeper connection with the spirit of Chief Ogunde.

I highly recommend visiting the Ogunde Museum to anyone interested in Nigerian culture, history, or the performing arts. It's a treasure trove of knowledge and a testament to the enduring legacy of Chief Hubert Ogunde. Whether you're a theater enthusiast, a history buff, or simply curious about Nigeria's vibrant heritage, this museum offers an immersive and unforgettable journey.

Overall, my visit to the Ogunde Museum was an enriching experience that deepened my appreciation for Nigerian culture and its artistic heritage. I look forward to returning and exploring even more of what this remarkable museum...

The Museum houses the life and times of Nigeria's premier filmmaker, HUBERT OGUNDE. Artifacts from his professional and personal life are NEATLY kept in this museum. I am impressed about how well maintained the museum is and the intentional effort to keep it clean. . You'd find traditional attires and regalia used from stage plays in his time. The most intriguing part of my visit was being able to see the film equipment used in the 1970s and thus compare them to how technology has transcended over the years.

Young filmmakers will find this place exciting as there's a gallery of pictures document renowned filmmakers either on their visits to Hubert ogunde or in the course of their professional or personal affiliations. . The Museum is a very well-kept secret that requires a lot of publicity. It's a goldmine in the making if...
