We were very excited to visit our first winery during our recent travels in Bitola Macedonia. A rocky start upon arrival, but soon turned around by our lovely waiter Bojan.||||Bojan's warm and friendly nature, to his professional service and knowledge was exceptional, after chatting we learnt he was trained in Dubai. You could definitely see customer service was very important to him and all guests received the experience they came to enjoy.||||We reserved a table for lunch via facebook messenger, which was all smooth sailing, upon arrival we were seated in the casual dining on a small undressed table in the centre, as the dressed area was for a private function. ||||We asked to move to a larger table and it was reserved so was told by the waitress this was our only option, after we sat unattended for five minutes waiting for menus. We decided to take matters into our own hands and give them a chance as there was ample outdoor seating, so we headed out and chose a table, which they kindly dressed for us.||||Lunch was to begin, with a bottle of fine french bubbles followed by a local red from the winery that was impeccable, Bojan definitely took us on a journey of wonderful food and wine.||||Large menu full of traditional options and all your international favourites. We started out with a beautiful fresh salad, with the most divine jam, accompanied by Bruschetta with a local roasted pepper spread called Ajvar, very special indeed.||||For our mains we ordered steak and beef tagliata, which were delicious and cooked to perfection.||||The winery is located ten minutes drive from Ohrid, easy to catch a taxi. Stayed here for 3 nights and was joined by two friends who had never travelled to North Macedonia. After my first night, I knew I had made the right decision for my friends first visit to Bitola. The restaurant staff were extremely courteous and professional. They offer you an opportunity to try wines before you make a decision. The food is of very good quality, great apps and mains. Portion sizes were “balkan” and prices were more than reasonable. We had breakfast included and you had a great variety to choose from! Both western and Macedonian. Their jams are homemade and to die for. One night I ordered the fried cheese with almond crust and covered in a fig jam..wow! Pic included above. So good with a glass of white! Their wines are good, small batch. Although their cheapest white wine (grape starts with a T) is by far their best! ||||Accommodations were perfect, small balcony, nice size bathroom with shower. All modern and new. Television probably had 300 channels! Very comfortable bed, bedding and pillows. The grounds outside are immaculate. I need to point out that the restaurant has two sections. A non smoking section and a separate almost restaurant for smokers, and there are many! Although the non smoking restaurant may look empty, no worries, it’s always busy on the other side. ||||A huge thank you to ALL the staff at Chiflik. I visit Macedonia (and Bitola) at least once a year. The city centre is a $3 CDN or less ride from the hotel. The hotels in the city tend to be loud, air quality not so great and EVERYONE smokes EVERYWHERE! So it was nice to...

We visited the restaurant so my review is solely considering our experience of the food and service. We ordered food for five people with one being gluten intolerant. I ordered one of the more expensive dishes (Kremoso, costing 920 dinars). It took about 20 mimutes for the food to arrive. I ordered my rump steak as medium but when it arrived it was well done, and the food was humid in temperature. Not hot. When asking about gluten free options the answer was simply 'you can have anything without sauce.' Which is a rather boring option. Considering the patrons made up less than half of the restaurant's capacity (meaning there wasn't high pressure on the kitchen) you'd think the cook would be able to make something to satisfy one gluten allergic need. Unfortunately our gluten intolerant company had to eat a well done steak with a few cold vegetables on the side. Overall experience was well below what we expected of this highly praised hotel.

I stayed here for dinner and a wine tasting, and it was really good. The service was fast and polite. I ordered the pear salad, which was very tasty and fresh. It is probably one of the best salads I've ever had. I also ordered the sweet-sour chicken, but it was very sweet and lacked of sourness. As a dessert, the fruit in Coupe Jacques was pretty sour. The sweet-sour chicken could have used some sourness from the coupe, and the coupe could have used some sweetness from the chicken. The wine tasting was really amazing. We had the opportunity to try four different wines, which were all Ciflik-made. We had a really good time at Ciflik, it was an awesome restaurant to dine at.

It was a great way to try nice wine and nice food...great outdoors for kids and weddings..our server was outstanding...still overheard comments from the other staff regarding our coffee order, seems that the bartending girl was not familiar with a double shot of esspreso in a small cup = doppio....so she was making fun of us regarding it...too bad, she has a great job and i believe quite a few foreigners will show up over there, she might use google some times for learning just a smidge more about her calling...but again a definitive must for a stop in bitola area...

I stayed here for dinner and a wine tasting, and it was really good. The service was fast and polite. I ordered the pear salad, which was very tasty and fresh. It is probably one of the best salads I've ever had. I also ordered the sweet-sour chicken, but it was very sweet and lacked of sourness. As a dessert, the fruit in Coupe Jacques was pretty sour. It was a great way to try nice wine and nice food...great outdoors for kids and weddings..our server was outstanding...still overheard comments from the other staff regarding our coffee order, seems that the bartending girl was not familiar with a double shot of esspreso in a small cup = doppio....so she was making fun of us regarding it...too bad, she has a great job and i believe quite a few foreigners will show up over there, she might use google some times for learning just a smidge more about her calling...but again a definitive must for a stop in bitola area...
