Strumica Fortress also known as the Czar's Towers is a ruined fortress in eastern North Macedonia. It overlooks the city of Strumica. The fortress was built in the 5th century, although the site itself dates from the 1st century BC. Reconstruction of the fortress began in March, 2014.

Nothing important. Authorities started a reconstruction but probably run out of the money, result : some new wall and gate, and an ancient (but nice) ruin of a tower. Abandoned place. The tower is OK the other part is nothing, artificial. Also be aware : to climb up to the entrance gate ca be tricky, there is a road up, with digged (excavated) stairs, nut some atairs are...

Beautiful place to visit.. you can get there with the car and you can see the the whole city from up there. Just an advise.. careful where you go with the car as you might miss the right turn like I did 🤣 enjoy and try to get up there at sunset or at sunrise.. the light is amazing for photography...

Absolutely amazing drive up to the ruins but once there, not much to see other than the view of the surrounding area... That being said, the view of the surrounding area is spectacular! The drive up the windy road is the experience you're going to remember and...

Just an advise.. careful where you go with the car as you might miss the right turn like I did 🤣 enjoy and try to get up there at sunset or at sunrise.. the light is amazing for photography lovers like myself

Ruins from ancient times, green nature all around and breathtaking views at about 450 metres altitude is what you can enjoy here. Getting there is rather easy as there are signs that lead you right there, where you have a view of the whole city of Strumica.

Nice old castle Ruins! Good to wander and walk around. I recommend stopping at the restaurant by for a coffee break or even to have lunch! People are very nice and helpful. If they can't speak english they will try somehow to help you in any case.

Nice old castle Ruins! Good to wander and walk around. I recommend stopping at the restaurant by for a coffee break or even to have lunch! People are very nice and helpful. If they can't speak english they will try somehow to help you in any case.
