Hafjell Alpinsenter — Attraction in Øyer

I came from Berlin to ski and cross country ski. Cross country skiing is great. Though because of often strong wind the tracks disappear quickly in the afternoon. If you want groomed or visible at all tracks better cross country ski before noon.

Alpin skiing: good service and affordable (cheaper than Austria) rental and day pass also fairly priced. Skiing for experts a bit too easy. I would say it’s mostly for intermediate and beginners. But enjoyable. What was disappointing and unexpected for a “food” country like Norway was the offer of food in the skiing area. On the slopes I only found fast food options with “trash” food like processed food style burger, industry pizza... instant coffee, coke world... all served on plastic one way plates. I've come here every year since I was two and I still love it. There are always new places to discover and the cabins are awesome. There are many different slopes for different preferences: wood, bumpy, black, red blue, green, kids slopes etc. You can rent different types of skis and snowboards with all the gear included. There are restaurants in different places all over the mountain and shops you can access from the slopes and the road. Rent service is very OKAY. Alpine center has many many tracks and slopes. Tracks are very different. The slopes service is the worst i have ever seen. Whole day havent seen any service car re-tracking slopes. After 2 hours skiing most of the tracks were suitable only for offroad jeeps. Snowbording became imposible. Skiing 50/50. I could not recommend this senter for snowborders because of narrow slopes. Better adventure to use skies.
