Well worth a visit even if you’re not a WW2 fanatic (I’m not)! The hike up to the bunker from the bus stop and parking area is on a paved road and took us (a family of four) about 40 minutes. At the top you have a great view and the cafe serve good pancakes (40 NKR each). They also let us eat our packed lunch inside in shelter from the rain. 💛 Super interesting tour (in excellent English!) through the German bunker and tunnels with a very knowledgeable guide! We learnt so much! Make sure to time your visit to when the tours are given! There are also some small exhibitions where you don’t need a guide. Our only problem was when we were going to get the bus back to Bergen (one every two hours on Sundays) the driver drove past us since we were in the bus shelter and not outside… 😖 We were saved by two lovely locals who gave us a lift back! 🤩 Tusen tack! 🙏🏻 Heja Norge! 🇳🇴 Hälsningar från...

Mothers day and sun is shining and just being around the City so i took my sun to explore Fjell and we found this area by accident. Do we went all the way to the top where Festning were that's about 170M above the ground, beautiful view everywhere you turned and the view of the farm and the trail were stiff but lots of big rocks to step into. There were trees they cut and it's perfect to take a break and grab a drink and enjoy the most amazing panoramic view around. It's very relaxing and its a good side trip if you are waiting for your late flight. From Bergen bus station take a bus 450 i think direction Skogsskiftet terminal but you can stop after...

The fortress itself is very cool. Although I do recommend getting a ticket with guided tour. Else it is not really worth coming here. Since most of the fortress is closed off if you just by the regular ticket without guided tour. The food and drinks in the cafe are tasteful.

Besides that, the (hiking)trails that are available are enjoyable, although sometimes the direction you need to follow according to the signs is quite unclear. You can see parts of the fortress while following the trails which is nice.

Overall, would recommend if you like WW-II history. Although being a ticket with guided tour is strongly...

Very cool place if you are into ww2 history. There are multiple guided tours into the tunnels on Sunday after 11am. Any other day, you have limited access into the main turret and some rooms. Sunday 100 NOK per person, any other day 60 NOK. There is a parking next to the main road but then you have to hike 2.7 km. You can also take the car all the way up, there is another parking. I recommend to walk left from the main turret into the forrest. There are trenches, bunkers etc. to explore.

This is a WW2 museum of a German artillery entrenchment. The gunnery has been replaced with a nice cafe. The pancakes are great btw. For a fee you can enter the lower levels of the complex. It's interesting and informative and worth the effort. There is parking available at the top. You don't have to park at the lower lot and walk up.
