If you're coming from the South, northbound toward the Helgelandsbrua on the Kystriksveien (Fv17), check out the Vindenes Hus (House of the Winds) to your left, couple hundred meters before the bridge.
According to it's creator, Sissel Tolaas, "[t]he sculpture may remind us of an anonymous laboratory, a place where scientific activity takes place. The propellers located in the openings of the curved wall rotate based on the speed of the wind. This movement created by the wind energy, together with the Latin inscriptions of the names of the different winds & the indication of the compass directions, define a field of association where scientific systems are used as artistic expression. Here, science meets art's pursuit of beauty, to make things tangible & concretely present in our lives."
Well, I must admit I wouldn't have guessed this, but I'm no art critic either... ;-). The work was unveiled in 1994, & is part of the 'Skulpturlandskap Nordland' (quote above from Norwegian Wikipedia, accessed Dec 12, 2023, ~18:30; translation: Google Translate, slightly edited for clarity).
