On the island of Andøya you can wander along some of Norway’s most beautiful beaches and look out over the still waters of the ocean with the midnight sun as your sole companion. This is a trip that is designed for enjoyment. The road itself follows a broad shelf of cultivated land where people have put down roots between the wide ocean and the jagged peaks. If you’re lucky you might see seals, whales and eagles from your car window. In the late summer you can try tasting wonderful cloudberries on the moorland that stretches towards the mountains, or earlier in the summer you can visit the bird cliff on the island of Bleiksøya. The Gulf Stream makes for a hospitable climate and turns the ocean into an abundant source of food for a rich variety of bird and animal life. Here you can also discover some little-known highlights such as the tiny fishing village of Bleik. Between Nordmæla and Nøss you will find the rock formation Bukkekjerka, where nature itself has contrived to build a natural altar and pulpit. Andøya also provides a fine stretch of road for cyclists and if you want to view the island from the sea, there are lots of opportunities...

whale watching. Just on the northern tip of the island of Andøya, the village of Andenes is also located by the Bleik Canyon and offers stable feeding grounds for whales. Whales are also studied in this area which gives your guides up-to-date information on the whales. You can also visit a museum which gives you all the insight to the...

✨ Episode 14 ✨ Next up is the Island of Andøya in Norway 🇳🇴 If you’re up to date with our Norway travels then you have probably heard me mention the Lofoten Islands, but if you’re somebody who likes to get away from people a little more than perhaps Andøya is better suited. You still get a glimpse of northern Norway here and as you can see, the scenery is just as beautiful, but unlike Lofoten, it feels like this is a bit more of a hidden gem, rather than a very obvious gem. If you’re coming by camper, then you should do both if you have the time, as well as Senja, but you will have to wait for the video of that! 😏 I have lots more of Norway to share and soon we will be making our way across Europe, so be prepared to see lots more beautiful places here! 😁 @harrysadvantures #norway #norwaytravel #norway🇳🇴 #traveldestination #traveldestinations #travellocations #travelinspiration #travelinspo #travel
