Great hike with amazing views and difficult, technical parts (20-07-2023). I hiked from Fyre to Flåm, staying the night at the DNT hut called Grindsflethytta. The first part (3 hours) is easy, with paths through the forest you the mountain, not very steep. After that there are a lot of technical difficult parts, with many stones/rocks on the path and a steep climb to the top. This was though, although we are experiences hikers. Warm clothing and hiking sticks were necessary.

During the whole hike there was a lot of wind and rain, and temperature difference (from 20°C at the bottom to 4°C at the top). There are a lot of streams/small rivers to cross. This can be challenging So make sure to wear good foot ware, water resistant and warm clothing. The signs on the road are very good. You can soit the red T on many points. Only near the top you have to watch carefully where the paths goes. The hike took us around 8 hours (7 hours netto without breaks).

The DNT hut is super nice. Spacious and possibility to make a fire. Reindeer live in the area but we didn't see any.

The hike from the DNT hut to Flåm is also though, difficult and beautiful. Big part of the hike is high, around 1200m and it was very misty. Next there is a very technical parts with only rocks. There was a steep bit of snow we had to cross which was difficult. In the end the hikes goes through wet areas and a forest, with a beautiful view on the fjord and a multiple waterfalls.

Overall, it's a technical hike. But with amazing views and...

Oh blimey, the Nærøyfjord World Heritage Park is an absolute corker of a place to visit! If you're a fan of stunning views and breathtaking scenery, this place is an absolute must-see. With its winding fjords and towering mountains, it's no surprise that this park has earned its spot on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

I mean, talk about a feast for the eyes! You can hop on a boat tour and take in the sights from the water, or you can lace up your hiking boots and hit the trails for a more up-close-and-personal experience. Either way, you're in for a treat. And if you're lucky enough to visit during the winter months, you might even catch a glimpse of the elusive Northern Lights. Crikey!

But let's not forget about the local cuisine, eh? There are plenty of restaurants and cafes in the area where you can chow down on some traditional Norwegian grub. From fresh seafood to hearty stews, there's something for everyone. And don't forget to wash it all down with a nice glass of aquavit or two! All in all, the Nærøyfjord World Heritage Park is a top-notch destination that's well...

Amazingly beautiful. We visited the fjord in August and it was still cold. The boat ride was once-in-a-lifetime experience. You can get inside the cabin if cold, but we chose to stay upfront and enjoyed the view. The boat stopped a few small ports to drop people off. When the boat was approaching the port, the staff blocked off the back area of the boat to let people got off the boat. If you need to get out, come out. Do not wait or hang around taking pictures. If you miss the drop off, the boat does not return. You will have to find your own way back...

The beautiful Flam Railway is one of the most spectacular (and steepest) rail lines in the world. Travelling down the narrow valley from Mydal to the amazing Flam fjord to meet your cruise ship is breathtaking. Sit on the left when travelling to Flam (opposite side when beginning in Flam) for the arguably better view, but both sides of the train have their advantages. The waterfall stop sometimes brings its own surprise!
