I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Undredal Brygge at Undredal, Norway. An absolutely wonderful restaurant in Undredal, right on the fjord with postcard-perfect views from the terrace. The atmosphere inside is warm and welcoming, and we were served by a French-speaking waiter who was not only very kind but also gave us excellent recommendations. We shared the slow-cooked leg of lamb between three people, and it was incredibly tender and flavorful – truly the highlight of the meal. Before that, we enjoyed a mixed starter plate with several local specialties. The portions were so generous that we took some of the lamb with us, and it was still delicious the next morning for breakfast! For dessert, we had a chocolate tart with berry coulis, which was a lovely way to finish the meal. This is a restaurant I would strongly recommend to anyone staying in the Flåm area. It is well worth driving 20–45 minutes to dine here, especially if you can arrive before sunset – the setting is magical and will surely leave you with unforgettable memories of your trip.

We recently had a pleasant and spontaneous visit to Undredal Brygge Restaurant. The menu was excellent, and the overall vibe of the place was very welcoming and enjoyable. The staff, for the most part, were lovely and made our experience even better. Yum! However, there is a significant issue with the toilet facilities. The restaurant seats a lot of guests, yet there is only one toilet available. This seems quite inadequate, especially considering the feedback we've read about it being blamed on ‘tourists’. As tourists ourselves, we didn't appreciate feeling like we were being judged for simply needing to use the facilities before our transaction. One particular woman made us feel like we were abusing the rule, which wasn't fair. Aside from that, everything else was great. We're glad we visited and would definitely come back. Next time, we'll bring a fridge bag to take some of their delicious cheese home with us. Recommendations: Add more toilet facilities to accommodate the number of guests. Consider selling bolle (Norwegian sweet buns) as an additional treat. Overall, it was a nice visit, and we look forward to coming back.

My husband and I spent three days in Underdal and our host (goat farmers in the valley) recommended the Underdal Brggie. We were there twice for dinner and it was one of the highlights of our visit to Norway. The first night we ordered the Pulled Baby Goat Meat (with parsnip puree, red wine and brown cheese sauce, and green salsa) and it was out of this world! The next night we had locals cheeses (the valley is famous for their gjetost brown cheese) and pizza which were also fantastic. The first night we asked for bread to soak up the amazing sauces and our super friendly waiter literally ran into the kitchen and but some fresh dough into the oven. The welcoming atmosphere is very naturally Norwegian (the staff is a mix of Norwegians and French chefs) with jaw dropping views of the Aurlandsfjord and surrounding mountains. The restaurant is in the small village and if you are within a 20 mile radius it is a must! Enjoy.
