I moved here just under a week ago and have been testing this slope for a week. rails dont have the best maintenance, jumps are REALLY bad (this year?) (too steep, so if you have any ambishion of not doing a backflip or not having the feeling of hitting a wall if you have any kind of speed , steer away from the jumps) jumps are not prepped by hand. landing area is way to short and way too steep. No kids in here has any idea of what a line is. kids constantly joke around in the lifts and losing their skiis, so dont be surprised if you get a ski in the back of you neck here. in the weekends an entire slope(main slope) is reserved for downhill competition skiing. kirkerud is 3800 a year, tryvann is 3500 a year. tryvann has chairlifts - kirkerud dont tryvann has state of the art jumps and rails, kirkerud is at best BAD. tryvann is open 9-22. kirkerud is 17-21. tryvann has tripple the amount of slopes.
to move here and hope that this could be a small daily slope for repetitions, and then see the realities was a huge disappointment. its a great area to raise kids but personally im considering getting a car and drive to tryvann...
Read moreFirst time we went there one month ago and the children's area was free of charge. Yesterday they told us to pay! We ended to pay 600kr for two cards just for the children's area and just for two hours because we arrived there 15:00 and at 17:00 was closing! And if my son wanted to go to the more difficult slope, we had to buy another card because "due to the corona" it's not allowed to go from children's area to adults area with the same card!!! And in their site it's written that "barnebånd er gratis"! Their stuff is a bounch of kids who don't know what they are doing and their behavior was unacceptable! It's very expencive for a family and i will definetely not go...

It sells light snacks (toasties, burgers, hot dogs, cookies), hot chocolate and coffee. Outside there is usually a pot fire where you can roast sausages and marshmallows. There are ski camps during holidays and you can book individual or group lessons with pleasant and competent...
