I found this place by accident on a Friday when it was closed but the staff were kind enough to let me look around the outside of the buildings.The museum was well maintained and with the barbed wire fences and watch towers you get a small impression of what hell must have been like for the Gestapo's prisoners but hell set in heavenly surroundings. Read moreInteresting, but a little underwhelming. A lot of buildings were closed and the whole compound seems a little rundown. The guide who was kind enough to give us a private tour, for a small fee, was excellent and knows his stuff.
Since most of the visit is free, I'd still recommend it as it provides a interesting view into how Norway survived...

Fascinating tales of life in the camp and Norway under occupation. Would recommend but it was the guided tour that made it so good as only a little information...
