Museet Gamle Vossebanen — Attraction in Bergen

Cool and genuine steam locomotive from 1913. Takes you on the old winding track from Garnes to Midttun and back. The trip takes about 40-45 min each way, and you get an nice experience of how the old train ride was. The train is so close to the rock wall and vegetation at some times, you got to keep your head inside the wagon.

Sometimes they have an dinner wagon attached which you can reserve a spot and eat on the journey. Else they sell coffe, soda, chips, muffins and lefse onboard.

Ride time is about 1.5h - 2h round trip.

The main coaches can be a bit cold so I recommend a hoodie, the restaurant coach is great, but usually fully booked on return.

It's a great experience if you can get a table. Food isn't the main draw, but the decorum that is period correct to the age of the train with makes for a fascinating...
