Amazing view of the ocean and mountains from the huge glass windows. The coffee is good and included as many refills as you wanted. The cinnamon buns were delicious, altough the largest ones were more than twice as large as the smaller ones, but they cost the same: e.g the size of the bun is incosistent.

The sourdough waffle with ice cream and berries is also really good. Be aware that this is not a sweet waffle, but the berries and ice cream is sweet (and really good).

They also serve more dinnerlike dishes, and they serve the LOCAL SPECIALITY "møsbrømlefse" which is a must try.

My only gripe with the museum is that the entrance tickets for the boatmuseum is too expensive, and as such I have not seen it. The café however is free to enter and worth it to go to on its own for the nice view of the ocean, especially during winter.

The café is spaceous, but the interior is appears a bit cold (don't worry it is heated, but it looks cold) with all the naked...

Very necessary museum. Impressive jekt on display. Please be aware that they offer guided visits (also in English) included in the price of the ticket. Such a pity they don't advertise that in their website (Bodø is not an easy place for the tourist/visitor). My guide was Dafne, who speaks wonderful English and is very knowledgeable. The museum has the most amazing views, particularly in the café (such a pity the coffee they have is filtered). Can only recommend. Very nice design and...

This is a most thought-provoking collection in a fine fjordside setting. Although there is scant reference to the Sámi coastal groups who sailed this area for perhaps 5000 pre-viking years, and the puzzling lack of Norske sea shanties (yes, there were plenty in real life), the descriptions of raiding parties, fraudulent trade practices, monstrous storms, abysmal poverty, haughty Hanseatics and of course fish, fish, fish were more than enough to keep me enthralled. The onsite...

Gives a very good history of early Norwegian trade and the development of the vessels that were essential to it. The presentation of the 'Anna Karoline' with realistic sights, smells and sounds is excellent. Plenty of English descriptions and some interesting interactive experiences. Overall some of their exhibition is probably still being developed. We found it a valuable addition to our Norwegian experience.

Very interesting museum centred around a real Jekt. Tours take place in English and Norwegian and give a very good overview. Would suggest to go back and do the circuit again at your own pace to really get the most out of it. Lots of interesting exhibits with information in both NO and EN. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area. Parking right outside.
