Nordfjord Folk Museum — Attraction in Gloppen

This museum was fantastic! We stopped by on a whim passing while through and I'm so glad we did. Seeing these old historic buildings was a really neat experience, and I was shocked by how many of them there were. They just keep going and going; it's a huge property. I didn't have time to see them all but I saw most of them and they were very cool. I especially liked seeing the sawmill, the mountain cabins hidden away up on the hill, and the yellow loft house. A very nice setting for an open air museum. Not all the buildings were open but the nice lady at reception lent us an English language guide which was very helpful. The museum showcases very well rural life in Nordfjord. If you are in the area of Sandane you really must visit this place. There are also two indoor exhibitions which contain a lot of items.
