Ganz ehrlich: ich hab noch nie was von Hamsun gelesen. Das wird sich jetzt ändern ! Was für eine schillernde, außergewöhnliche, in sich widersprüchliche Persönlichkeit. Gerade seine Begeisterung für die Ideen des deutschen Nationalsozialismus, speziell auch die Person Hitlers lassen ein ratlos durch's Museum ziehen. Anlässlich Hamsuns 150. Geburtstag 2010 eröffnet, ist es ein architektonisches Highlight für Hamarøy. Ih empfehle unbedingt den Besuch der Dachterrasse. Die Bambusstäbe singen im Wind ! Das Restaurant hab ich ausgelassen - es war mir viel zu unterkühlt und ungemütlich dort.

En interessant historie om Hamsun. Lagt ut på en oversiktlig måte hvor man går kronologisk gjennom livet hans fra begynnelsen til hans rettsak for landssvik/forræderi og død. Det var også en ekstra utstilling i samarbeid Nordnorsk Kunstsenter. Nydelig utsikt på toppen av bygget. Jeg spiste ikke på kafeen som var der, så den er ikke tatt inn i vurderingen.

This is the best museum I’ve ever been to that’s based on a writer. If you haven’t ever read Hamsun, this will make you want to read Hamsun. The staff are also super friendly and incredibly willing to answer any questions...

Way more interesting than I expected! Nice permanent display of the writers life, with an interesting concept of each floor representing a new stage in his developnent/condition. Top floors are getting weird...
