Adolfkanonen — Attraction in Harstad

Museum is conserving the last battery of German 40,6 cm SK C/34 guns in the world. One of four Guns open for visit as part of a guided tour (meeting point is outside the still in use now Norwegian barracks on the west parking lot, no visit possible without extra arrangement or as part of this tour). Museum gun is in good condition with additional small exhibition of equipment in the basement of the gun site. Guide is knowledged to explain a lot of small details.

Die Adolfkanonen Batterie besteht aus 4 Geschützen und können nur geführt besichtigt werden da sie mitten in einem Militärstützpunkt der Norwegischen Armee sind. Treffpunkt für die Führung ist ein Kiesparkplatz einige Meter vor dem Haupteingang zum Stützpunkt. Während der Führung ist das Fotografieren erlaubt aber auf dem restlichen Stützpunkt sollte dies unterlassen werden. Die Soldaten achten auch darauf. Im Museum man diverse Fotografien, Diagramme sowie Ausrüstungsgegenstände der Kanone (Geschosse, Messinstrumente, usw.) sowie der Soldaten.

Wir nahmen an der letzten Nachmittagsführung der Saison teil und waren die einzigen. Geführt hat uns ein Student dessen Familie (Grossvater und Vater) schon ihr ganzes Leben mit den Kanonen zu tun hatte. Durch den kompetenten Guide und eine quasi "Privat Führung" erfuhren und sahen wir sehr viel. Wir konnten sogar das manuelle Nachladen in der Kanone durch spielen. 2h die absolut unvergessen bleiben!
