For a small fee you can drive up the hill and park near a hotel. Follow the signs for the trail. It does go up a little, but the trail ist easily manageable, even during a rainy day. It is also a nice short hike with smaller children. I think we needed less thank 30 minutes to the viewpoint, so it was a very short tour for us. But since it was raining anyway it was not too bad. There are also info panels with pictures and information of Norwegian animals along the way.

There are a lot of mosquitos in the forest and at the viewpoint, so jackets and/or long trousers are recommended. There are also other trails in this area that we did not walk because of the weather.

I would not have gone there specifically for this hike. But if the weather is bad and you drive past it anyway you could...

Amazing view over Norwegian beautiful nature, with sence of freedom, fresh air and glimpse of magnificent. You have to pay 40 kr bom to get to the last parking pot, then parking is free, it's big parking space. You have king and queens views. To queens views it takes not more than 5 min walk. Its OK but not that spectacular. To the kings view you have to HIKE! You have to have good shoes cause it's very rocky road. You can choose red or blue path. Blue is easier, red is more difficult - I suppose 😅 The view is breath taking , very nice pictures can be made, you have bench so you can seat down and admire the beauty of nature. You have to come back before it gets dark! So admire the view but look at the watch too ⌚ Nice...

If the weather is good - do make the effort. Breathtaking views!

Confusing road up there. There was a barrier that required 40 NOK to pass but this has been replaced with a camera that registers your car registration number. To pay up to 48 hours later you log in to the website written on the instructions. 99% is in Norwegian. The English is instruction is just to log in to the website “and follow instructions”. I guess it is fool-proof.

Avoid confusion, drive all the way up and park at the car park by the Kleivstua hotel. Walk from there is approx 1.5 km and takes approx. 2 hours (normal walk) and the path is marked. Mind the farm animals walking around, so...
